Cats Across Continents

Africa is the second largest continent, and covers 22% of the world's land mass. Approximately 90% of the land is no more than 500 feet above sea level. The Sahara Desert makes up almost 25% of its total area. The huge areas of Savanna to the south and east of the African continent are home to large herds of roaming herbivores and provide a substantial prey source for the wild cats.
